Power, amplitude, and elegance
Type of wine: Red. With spicy notes and ripe black fruit, featuring a balsamic and mineral background.
Varieties: Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Various plots (Gravera, Txel, and Sorts Vell) shape the mountainous landscape, forming this mosaic of vineyards. Different orientations and altitudes provide the potential to achieve optimal ripeness while maintaining a refreshing profile in the grapes.
Denomination of Origin: DO Costers del Segre.
Vinification: Separate vinification of the different varieties. Cold maceration in the winery ensures the fruity character, balanced by aging in 4,000-liter tonneau (Garnacha) and new French oak barrels from various cooperages (Radoux, Dargaud & Jaegle, Saury…). This aging process grants the wine long aging potential while maintaining an elegant profile that can be enjoyed from bottling. The wine ages for 12 months in barrels and a minimum of 6 months in bottles.
Altitude: Mountain viticulture at an altitude between 700 and 800 meters, at the foot of the Serra de la Llena—natural border with the El Priorat region and Montsant mountains—located in an area where Mediterranean and continental climates meet. Low rainfall and soft winds ensure the health of the vines.
Soil: Soils with good water retention, abundant gravel, and a loamy-clay texture ideal for quality viticulture. The altitude of the vineyards and the cool nights of Les Garrigues thicken the grape skins, enhancing the concentration of anthocyanins and tannins, while boosting acidity and freshness.
